[At some point...probably earlier in the day, since he has a sleepover planned, Varian will notice Ion looking at the jars of buttons that have been set up in the dining hall. He seems to be considering them quite carefully. He, of course, smiles and waves at Varian when he sees him, his face lighting up.]

[Akechi will find Ion staring at a suit of armor. It's pretty clear what he's looking at: in place of its normal visor, a sharply-pointed red and gold one has been put in its place. For some reason, Ion looks...unsettled.]

[It looks like what Ion is aiming for here is a large-looking ring that's glinting around a suit of armor's plated gauntlet. He's trying to pry it off, but his arms are so sad and weak, it's kind of heartbreaking to watch.]

[Before there are memory happenings, there's Ion peering up at a tuning-fork necklace that seems to have gotten stuck on a sconce positioned high up on the castle wall. Since Ion had given his own to Natsuo a couple weeks ago, of course he can't help but think that this is the same one and Natsuo has just been...incredibly irresponsible with it. He's on his toes and using his staff to try and hook around it, but he can't quite reach. So when he sees Shirasu, he smiles seepishly, his cheeks flushed. If he's tired, he's probably been doing this for a little while now.]

I hate to ask...but would you mind giving me a hand?

[Let's be real they're probably both exhausted, but Ion knows his Original has to be having a worse time right now, between last week and this week...and he's just happy that he's still alive. Ultimately, he doesn't know if keeping him company helps or harms, but...it feels wrong to leave him alone, to not express that he's here and he's thinking of him. Maybe it stems from his own feelings. But if he hates being alone, it has to be somewhat similar for him, too.

So, with a measure of caution, he approaches.]

When Ion arrives at Seph's door, his cheeks are flushed, expression knit tight with worry. He had to take a step back and play the role of moral support during the executions but...I mean, she's gotta know he wanted to jump in. Would have, if he didn't know just how she felt about it.]

[Ion is absolutely sure he has nothing he can say that is going to make Souji feel better. But, well, he really likes Souji. He can't not check up on him. Especially now that he's partnered with his other self. Everything feels...odd. Different. It takes him a little while as he collects himself, knowing that Souji probably needs his own space, before he goes and finds him.]

Week 3, Sunday Post-Execution - Sanji

[Well, at least Ion is roughly taking his own advice. He hasn't stopped breathing, yet. But it feels like everything else in the world has stopped. Once the execution dispersed and Ion had nobody else left to comfort, the energy drained out of him like a faucet left abandoned. He probably would have collapsed right in the foyer, but willpower alone kept his feet moving. The wise choice might have been to head back to his room, but after the weekend, after what just happened, he needs a break from babysitting Natsuo. It's not that it bothers him to do it, but he knows he won't be any comfort to anyone for awhile.

Ion ends up in the music room. Usually, he takes a seat at the full-scale harp, but instead he finds himself cradling a handheld-sized version in his lap, huddled against corner in the back. He's not even making music, just softly plucking the same sad cord as he stares off into nothing, head lulled against the cool stone.]

[Ion didn't have any particular attachment to those who were found dead this week...of course, he's always been the sort to feel saddened and regretful about the passing of others. This is no different. But he has other things on his mind, and returning to his dorm feels...unpleasant, at the moment. There was a body found in here earlier today but, uh, Ion's in the music room. It's the only place he can think of to clear his mind. Shirasu should be able to hear the familiar sounds of the harp being played from within.]

[Oh cool, great, more people are dead and there's smoke everywhere. Ion can't even make it into the kitchen, honestly. Even if the smoke is billowing out, he's in the doorway coughing, his weak lungs struggling against the foul smell. Gripping the wall, his legs bend, but he manages to keep himself held up.]

[It's a decent hour in the morning that Ion comes knocking on Waver's door, hoping he's still here and alone instead of being his twink self in the library--he wants to be sure there's nobody around to overhear them. Whenever Waver answers, he'll be delighted to find that it doesn't seem Ion has any apparent new injuries! Hooray!]
