[ Ion doesn't quite startle, but he blinks up as Ion comes in. Wow, actually showing initiative for once, surprising. Maybe there's hope for you yet, counterpart.

He looks a little worn out, as if he's been pushing his limits for the week, but he shakes that off as quickly as he can and waves the other Ion into his room, inclining his head shallowly in acknowledgment. ]


... I would be grateful for that, thank you.

[ ...hm. He sounds sincere. ]

Our partners are quite the busybodies, aren't they.

[ Sandalphon writes more letters. Fitzgerald is entirely too wordy. But as he skims the letters, namely the one from bed and breakfast, he pauses. ]

What did you write to them about? Who they were, or whether they wanted to be friends?

[ He pauses again in the middle of trying to mentally substitute for the missing words, frowning mildly. (He's had too much practice with this as of late. It's terrible.)

... but it eventually gives way to a wan sort of smile. ]


I suppose clear communications and a good working relationship would certainly help to facilitate such a thing...

They're our age, though... how strange. [ but also, perhaps not surprising, considering the people they've written to. ] Perhaps it's simply that the book in the library makes the story out to seem so... aged.

Would you mind terribly if I made copies of these?
